A Song Like You Review

Oliver Patterson

Jakob the Liar declares love in a bold and unique way through “A Song Like You.” The track conveys energy and confidence from start to finish. The song is put together beautifully and creatively.

“They are not ready for it” As Jakob whispers these words, you get a gentle introduction to this beautiful indie pop song. Afterwards, Jakob the Liar draws you into the song with a warm guitar, and then a few seconds into the song, the drums drop. This creates a warm introduction to the song before the beats drop. This kaleidoscopic arrangement brings about a soft and intimate feeling when listening to the song. It established the tone immediately and then built on it throughout the track.

The incorporation of the melodies, different instruments, and Jakob the Liar’s vocals brings the song together beautifully. The combination of the pounding drums and the dynamic electric guitar adds a rock element to the song.

Perhaps one of the best parts of the song is when the guitar riff plays towards the end as Jakob keeps repeating the lyrics “a song like you.” As these words fade away and as the song ends, it creates an ethereal feeling that evokes emotions.

The lyrics of the song are also enticing and creative. “I never had a song like you, coz I never met someone like you,” feels personal and emotionally resonant.

A Song Like You is the fourth and final single from Jakob the Liar’s upcoming EP called “Wake Up Mr Kupferberg.” This EP will be the first teaser from Jakob the Liar’s debut LP called “The Great Awakening.” A Song Like You, like the first three releases in Jakob’s upcoming EP showcases

Jakob The Liar’s ability to create bold sonic and narrative landscapes, crafting and shaping each one to suit a uniquely immersive tone that transports the listener into his world.

Get A Job Review

Get A Job by SPLINTER is an energetic and excitable rock banger, exploring the frustration we feel about work. It covers the expectations of getting a job and the anger we feel succumbing to the rat race. The track also gives us a perspective on the alternatively hollow life of a rockstar, forever burdened by […]
