Gonna get it Review

Gonna get it by BUKVE is an alt-rock exploration of the importance of forgiveness in such a fast-paced and ever-changing world. The track has a breezy confidence conveyed through layers of guitars and a laid-back vocal performance. BUKVE sounds conversational and relaxed while communicating the themes of the track. The changing cadences in BUKVE’s vocal register allow his tone to evolve and change. These vocals often share the spotlight with the guitar, which leads the composition from the front. It almost feels like the two have a call-and-response style relationship. The vocals expand the narrative, and it feels as if the guitar reacts to it, responding melodically in a satisfying way while emotionally reacting to the narrative explored by the vocals.

At its core, Gonna get it is a conversation between these two elements. The interaction between the two is where you can find real catharsis throughout the track. The drums are another strong aspect. Although remaining relatively consistent throughout the song, they do subtly evolve from moment to moment, becoming far more than a structural necessity; they cross over into a textural aide. The hiss and crash of the drums becomes part of the melody. On top of the lead guitar, there is a grunge rock guitar that appears during certain intense moments. This works especially well with the phrase “are gonna get it.” It fantastically underscores the importance of the line while also creating tonal contrast with the vocals. The vocalist has a higher, softer register. With this in mind, the crunchy distortion of the guitar and the pace of the strumming provide a juxtaposition that elevates the vocals through the comparison.

Overall, the pacing and narrative exploration impressed me in Gonna get it. The guitar is energetic, and the vocals are emotive and bold. It’s an excellent example of the power of the indie rock genre.
