Love On Fire Review

Love On Fire by LAUGHING CATS is a brilliantly crafted electronic pop track with some psychedelic alternative influences that elevate it to the next level. Beginning with this repeated, syncopated shout, from the opening bell Love On Fire establishes its stylish verve. The exclamation is energetic, bold, and unapologetic. It’s also got a flirty undertone matching the vibe of the track overall. The charisma of the vocalist is what sells this piece from beginning to end.

They take us on the journey, leading the melody from the front. This song has so many layers of melodic depth that listening to it feels like being transported to a club on a Saturday at 2am. Even the mix seems to reflect this. The vocals feel produced in a way which is reminiscent of a club environment. Despite leading the melody, the vocals are belted out almost as if they are being sung above the hubbub of a loud club. Techniques like this connect the narrative and textural aspects together beautifully. The synths are another key part of the sound LAUGHING CATS have established. There are several layers to it from ethereal, high register synths that extend and explore the track’s melodic register to deep synths that add to the rhythmic aspects of the sound. The rhythm they establish is rapid and aggressive, giving the track a noticeable drive and structure that the other motifs and concepts can dance around. This mixture of structure and chaos gives the track a unique sound. It feels as if it is constantly bouncing between order and entropy. I have to give props to the production for creating such an innovative, unstable, and exciting sound. The shout the track opens with is sampled throughout the piece, creating this almost hypnotic repetition that draws the listener in even further. It builds a trance like atmosphere that is addictive to listen to.

Overall, I’m impressed by the controlled chaos in Love On Fire. It’s a fun, energetic, and flirty electro pop banger that is worth your attention.

Get A Job Review

Get A Job by SPLINTER is an energetic and excitable rock banger, exploring the frustration we feel about work. It covers the expectations of getting a job and the anger we feel succumbing to the rat race. The track also gives us a perspective on the alternatively hollow life of a rockstar, forever burdened by […]
